If you are looking for a good cultivator, you will probably have seen this reliable petrol-driven Handy 3.5hp Tiller with Briggs & Stratton engine. It is highly recommended—and, through the Club, it is incredibly good value for money.
It is designed for domestic acres rather than farm use, yet has the reliability and working ability of a professional model, from the excellent B&S engine to the solid all-steel construction. But at only 29kg it is also lightweight, and this, coupled with just one forward gear, makes it supremely easy to use.
The Handy makes a fine tilth and the working depth of cultivation is 25cm (10in). The working width is 38cm (about 15in), which makes it easy to operate in small spaces, and the tine speed is 120 rpm. The overall dimensions are 121x51x102cm (47x20x40in) and the handles collapse so you can store it in the minimum shed space, or transport it in the boot of a car. The tines are bolted, it has depth skid and support wheels, and comes with a 12-month manufacturer’s warranty.
