Our new Club arrangement with Royal Crown Derby means that Members can order this beautiful porcelain—every piece of which is still made and hand-decorated in England—at exclusively good prices, all year round. This prestigious British company was founded more than three centuries ago—some time before 1750. Emphasis was placed on highest quality workmanship from the start. King George III recognised this in 1775 when he granted the factory the rare honour of being able to incorporate a crown into the backstamp. Much later, in 1890, Queen Victoria gave Crown Derby her seal of approval by awarding the Royal Warrant and by granting the title ‘The Royal Crown Derby Porcelain Company’.
To celebrate our new partnership with this world-famous firm we are featuring Royal Crown Derby’s superb porcelain in the next issue of your Club magazine, including full dinner services and individual pieces and collectors’ items. As a small taste of what is in store we are delighted to introduce a new addition to Royal Crown Derby’s collectible hand-painted and gilded paperweight collection, the Jenny Wren.
The intricate design reflects the ‘Imari’ pattern developed by the Derby factories in the late 18th century. Each piece is hand-decorated and finished with hand-applied gold, and is therefore fabulous, rich and unique: a miniature work of art indeed, designed by Louise Adams and modelled by Donald Brindley. It is 5.5cm (2 1/4in) tall and will arrive in a smart Royal Crown Derby presentation box to make a discerning gift for all who love fine British craftsmanship as well as native British birds.
RRP £70 delivery excluded. CCUK £58 including delivery
