See the hit Hollywood musical ‘City of Angels’: superb seats and Champagne Dinner: sold out and run ended

The critically acclaimed production of hit Hollywood musical ‘City of Angels’ is arriving in the West End, five years after opening at the Donmar and winning two Olivier Awards. First seen on Broadway in 1989, it enjoys cult status among aficionados of musicals. Writes critic Michael Billington, ‘Phenomenally clever, it has one of the wittiest books ever written, boasts an effervescent jazz score by Cy Coleman and here gets as slick and svelte a production by Josie Rourke as you could wish.’
Rourke’s production includes the original stellar cast: Rosalie Craig, ‘gravity-defying star who has the world stage at her feet’, along with Theo James, Vanessa Williams and Hadley Fraser. And this musical love letter to 1940s Hollywood has the critics in massed praise: ‘High glamour, grit and wit’ (Stage); ‘Dazzling musical . . . jazzy, delectably tart take on Tinsel Town’ (Independent), ‘Ripples with wit. . . immaculate’ (Guardian).
With a sensational jazz score by Cy Coleman, sizzling lyrics from David Zippel and a book by acclaimed comic screenwriter Larry Gelbart, ‘City of Angels’ is a witty and glorious celebration. It will be a sell-out, so we are delighted to have secured excellent Dress Circle seats on Thursday, March 26, 2020, right after opening night. And iwe shall open the evening with a three-course Champagne Dinner at the suitably glamorous Savoy Hotel, where our tables are booked from 5pm (the performance is at 7.30pm at the Garrick Theatre, 2 Charing Cross Road, London WC2H 0HH).
