Chewton Glen is one of the best luxury country hotels in the world—and its restaurant, The Dining Room, is the perfect match. Nothing forced, nor ‘clever’, this is a high-quality act which always delivers. From the typically English to the totally cosmopolitan, head chef Simon Addison, executive head chef Luke Matthews and their talented team create fine dining at its most natural. The judges at The Tatler Restaurant Awards write, ‘The menu is utterly delicious and thankfully avoids the sometimes tortured “cleverness” of country-hotel dining.’
Moreover, our Members receive a complimentary glass of Champagne for themselves and their guests whenever they lunch or dine—and as you also receive special Club rates to stay at Chewton Glen, and a complimentary bottle of Champagne, the gaiety of life is much enhanced.
The menu brings together influences from far and wide, underpinned by impeccable ingredients, many from the hotel’s kitchen garden: tuna tataki with avocado purée, Thai lobster curry, and Cornish turbot with chicken wings, aubergine and miso dressing, share the bill with slow-cooked ox cheek or Quantock duck breast accompanied by sweet potato, sprouting broccoli and heritage carrots. Oysters, salads, grills and roasts from the trolley also feature, while puddings might offer chocolate fondant with Calvados ice-cream or pineapple and black pepper tarte tatin—all backed by a truly monumental wine list.
Currently the Estate lunch menu is £25 for two courses and £32 for three courses—your free glass of Champagne would for other diners be £15 per glass.
