Our Club Tasting Panel select only a few wines from regions of Europe other than France, because French wine is undoubtedly our Members' preference. Those which you see below, an Italian Chianti and a Rioja from Spain, are the two which currently they recommend. More will appear between now and Christmas.

Classic Rioja Crianza 2008 from Bodegas Marques de Reinosa: an El Snippo buy at £81 per case of 12
A classic Rioja Crianza from a very good producer, Vinestral Rioja Crianza 2010 from Bodegas Marques de Reinosa is full of fresh berry fruit, complemented by a lovely smooth texture from good use of oak. Less than £7 a bottle to Members, despite its august appearance in the cellars of The Connaught.

Textbook Chianti: the 2009 Chianti Classico Castello di Querceto: save £86 a case  
Chianti lovers will be delighted with this deal on the highly-rated 2009 Chianti Classico Castello di Querceto, named by Decanter magazine’s wine critics as ‘textbook Chianti—four stars!’ Robert Parker praised the 'soft, plush, inviting personality. Sweet tobacco, crushed flowers and licoric. 87 points.’
