Experienced Events Organiser
The role encompasses everything from arranging preferential access for our Members to rugby at Twickenham, Chelsea Flower Show and Royal Ascot, to tickets and picnics for polo at Guards, to exclusive antiques viewings at stately homes, private Country Club uk parties and literary lunches.
Events include:
Tastings (including wine, whisky and food)
Sporting events (including rugby, racing, tennis, cricket and polo)
Social and educational events (including art, antiques and garden visits to stately homes)
Musical and literary events (including literary lunches and small orchestral evenings)
Charitable events (in conjunction with other organisations)
Promotions and product launches
Club parties and social gatherings (including The House of Lords)
Seminars (working with our experts, who are preferred partners)
Stands at game fairs, country shows and sporting events (eg Badminton Horse Trials and the CLA Game Fair)
Typical work activities:
Researching to identify interesting ideas and opportunities for events
Identifying and securing speakers or special guests
Liaising with Partners/Members to ascertain their precise requirements
Liaising with other event organisers to buy tickets and/or hospitality at sporting events, negotiating the best possible prices and benefits for Members
Producing detailed proposals for events (including budgets, profits, timelines venues, suppliers, legal obligations, staffing)
Securing and booking venues or locations
Co-ordinating venue management, caterers etc
Planning entertainment programmes
Meeting and greeting Members on the day
Co-ordinating staffing requirements and staff briefings
Liaising with the Press and providing facilities
Ensuring insurance, legal, health and safety obligations are adhered to
Co-ordinating everything on the day to ensure that all runs smoothly troubleshooting
Post-event evaluation and reporting
Skill attributes and experience:
Superb communication and presentation skills
Previous event organisation skills gained within an operational role. Dynamism, an innovative outlook, and ‘can-do' attitude
Extensive contacts list
Excellent written and spoken English Flexibility to work to editorial and event deadlines
Knowledge of event revenues
Potential to take on a management role as the position develops within the company
